Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP and Romain Febvre Win Race 1 On Hometown Soil in Ernée
France's team captain led from the front, displaying his commitment and national pride from the drop of the gate in the first moto. Sweeping into second within half-a-lap he immediately chased down year-long GP rival Jorge Prado, for six laps as the duo moved relentlessly clear of their chasers before executing a pass to take the lead and immediately opened up a gap before the leaders encountered lapped traffic. With an eye to the national team scores he wisely did not risk pushing harder than necessary on a slippery race-track surface and fell victim to a surprise pass by his rival with four laps remaining. Supported by the massive home crowd the Frenchman dug deep to immediately respond and, with an exhilarating downhill pass, he moved back to the front and sprinted clear of his rival to claim the first home victory of the day on his 2024 KX™450 for the ecstatic crowd.
Romain Febvre
"It's unbelievable to win again; my fourth Nations and my fourth victory. I wasn't completely comfortable with the track yesterday in Qualifying but I knew that I had the ability to turn it round today. I took a good start - second to Prado - in the first moto and then it was like a GP race with me chasing him down. He passed me back near the end and the fight was on; I knew I had to do something and I passed him again with two laps to go. I'm so happy for the fans who were behind us so strongly all day!"
Kevin Horgmo
"That was the last race of my MX2 career; we had some up-and-downs during the year but we never gave up and a huge thanks to the team; the highlight was definitely Turkey with the moto win. It was also my last GP with F&H so a big thanks for the last two years to everyone; we had some fun times together so let's end it strong now at the Motocross des Nations."
Jack Chambers
"I only live thirty minutes from here during the season so this was like my home GP but I didn't get my starts this weekend. I ran eighth for most of race two and was ninth until the last corner when I made a mistake and lost two positions. It would have been nice to finish ninth but eleventh isn't bad. Now I'm looking forward to the Nations where I will race for Puerto Rico; when I went to watch last year I told myself I wanted to race the event one day."

“It was an unfortunate result at the end, but I'm super happy with my riding and where we're at with my KX250X. I started the race in third and passed my way into the lead through the Pro Section. I was then able to extend a decent gap ahead of the competition until I had an issue and needed to pull into the pits. We got the issue resolved and I jumped back into the race to salvage a sixth place finish.”
