MONSTER ENERGY® KAWASAKI RIDERS BRING HOME SECOND PLACE IN GLENDALE
Monster Energy Kawasaki and Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki race teams had a big night of racing at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, earning podium finishes in both the Western Regional 250SX and 450SX classes at Round 6 of Monster Energy AMA Supercross. Monster Energy® Kawasaki rider Jason Anderson battled one of the slickest racing surfaces of the season so far, securing second place in both his heat race and the 450SX Main Event. Meanwhile, Levi Kitchen, representing Monster Energy®/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki, maintained the red plate signifying the series championship points leader, after winning his heat race and securing second in the 250SX Main Event in The Grand Canyon State.

“This weekend went well for me! I was able to qualify my KX450SR on the pole which was nice. That definitely helped with my confidence heading into the night show. My heat race was decent, but I was able to get up to second which was nice for a gate pick in the main. In the main I was riding really well and then I got up to second, was by myself, and was just able to put in my laps and get on the podium, so overall a solid weekend here in Glendale. Huge thank you to all of the Monster Energy® Kawasaki team for this success.”
Levi Kitchen
“All in all, it was a strong day for me. Qualifying went well, securing the second spot, and I clinched the win in my heat race. In the main event, I faced a bit of sluggishness in the initial five minutes, likely due to some crazy stuff within the top three. Fortunately, I made my way through the chaos unscathed and ultimately secured the second position. So, it turned out to be a successful night for me and the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team and I'm thrilled to leave with the red plate.”
Adam Cianciarulo
“San Diego, it was a tough one. I felt really good and comfortable during practice and very happy with the changes we made on the KX™450SR from last week. Then the rain came and I began to struggle. The heat race I fell over a few times. Obviously going to the LCQ is not something I’m proud of, but I was stoked to get some more track time and figure it out before the main. I tried my best to get through the pack, and I feel like I learned a lot and am ready to move forward the rest of the season.”
Austin Forkner
“All I can say is wow, what a great start to the season. A year ago we didn’t make it past the first turn, and now here we are, holeshot, heat race and main event winners. It’s been a long, hard road to get here, but it feels great to be back up on top. A lot of people have doubted me and my return, but I’m glad to be back to where I feel like I belong. We have done lots of training, and I felt great on my KX™250 all weekend. I can’t thank my Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team, trainers and family enough. This is a game changer for me and I’m ready to keep this red plate.”
Cameron McAdoo
“What a rollercoaster of a day. After qualifying we made some changes that I was happy with, and we came home with a heat race win. It gave me a big confidence boost going into the main, and I was ready to get to the podium. I got caught up in the first turn crash, and during the crash it ripped my gear off. It took us a minute to untangle our bikes, and I knew I was a lap down but was determined to run the best I could. It wasn’t the opening weekend I was hoping for, but I know we have the speed to be up front and I’m going to capitalize on that and keep moving forward. We have a few weeks off then back to Texas, let’s get it!”
Seth Hammaker
“I'm not super stoked on this weekend. I had a big crash in practice that was hard to recover from, and I didn’t feel very comfortable on this tacky track. We had a decent heat race running towards the front, and then in the main I went down and was stuck there with Cameron. Once I recovered, there was too much damage to my bike that it was unrideable. I really wish I could have kept going, but it’s a long season and I’m ready for redemption in a few weeks. We know what we need to work on and keep pushing and we will be good.”
Maximus Vohland
“The day was going good until it wasn’t. I qualified pretty good and I felt comfortable in the mud. I had a good start for the heat race and set myself up in a good position for the mud and the main event. In the main I felt comfortable and thought we were going to have a good race until we had an issue that ended our night. I am bummed out for the night to end that way because I felt like I ran pretty good all day and had a great chance at a podium. But we will regroup and get back to it this week and come in firing to San Diego.”
