MONSTER ENERGY® KAWASAKI RIDER JASON ANDERSON STALKING THE PODIUM ONCE AGAIN IN NASHVILLE
Monster Energy® Kawasaki rider Jason Anderson battled at the forefront, narrowly missing the podium for the second weekend in a row, finishing fourth in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross 450SX Main Event in Nashville, Tennessee. Teammate Adam Cianciarulo led several laps, nearly winning his heat race and ultimately finished 14th in the 450SX Main Event. Following a collision between the two Monster Energy®/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki teammates on the first lap, Levi Kitchen crossed the finish line of the East/West showdown in 14th place, remaining just two points shy in the 250SX Western Regional Championship. Meanwhile, Cameron McAdoo, after two crashes during the event, ultimately withdrew from the Main Event.

“Tonight was another step in the right direction. Yes, there were a few things that didn’t go my way, but overall it was a solid weekend. I started the day off qualifying seventh and then in my heat race, I was buried in the pack, but managed to find my flow and finish sixth. In the main event, I got a better start and quickly found myself battling in the Top 5. I tried to keep my laps consistent and catch Cooper Webb, but the time expired. Another super close podium opportunity, but my Monster Energy Kawasaki team has my bike running amazing. Nashville is always a fun one to race. See you all in Philly.”
Adam Cianciarulo
“Another one in the books for me. The day started off with some unexpected rain which canceled free practice, so we went straight into qualifying. It was decent and I was able to qualify 12th overall. In my heat race, I was able to lead some laps and fight for the win. That was an awesome feeling, especially since I am still recovering from my ankle injury. In the main, I got a mediocre start and began fighting through the pack, but fatigue late in the race crept in and I finished 14th. Nashville is such a fun race to come to and the fans are great. I’m excited to race Philly next weekend.”
Levi Kitchen
“It is crazy how quickly things can change in this sport. I started the weekend off strong with a third overall qualifying spot. In my heat race I got caught behind some riders on the ground and then they red flagged it. After the restart I managed to pull off a sixth. The night quickly changed for me when Cameron and I got together in the rhythm section in the main, causing me to go down very hard on my side and then I was run over by a competitor. I slowly got up and managed to salvage some points, but had to get checked out to make sure I was good. A huge thank you to the Monster Energy®/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team for keeping my bike dialed all weekend. This championship fight is not over yet!”
Cameron McAdoo
“Gutted is an understatement. The first qualifying session and the beginning of the second qualifying session were going to plan. My KX™250 was feeling good all day, but a crash in the second qualifying session caused me to pull off and get my shoulder checked on before the night show. I made the call to line up for my heat race and see how it felt on the track. I managed to make it into the main after battling my shoulder pain and unfortunately Levi and I got together causing us both to go down and when I got back up, I tried to continue, but the pain was unbearable. We are going to get everything checked out and stay hopeful that I can continue the last few rounds.”
Seth Hammaker
“I started off the weekend strong in qualifying and the heat race and felt really good about the night despite my few falls and mud-bogging moment earlier in the day. I had great starts and felt good until I got sideways in the whoops and went down straight on my shoulder. I didn’t dislocate it, but it felt really sore and weak so we decided to end the race early to prevent anything worse happening. We have the speed, I just need to stop making these small mistakes. Now we need to get ready for the East/West Showdown!”
Austin Forkner
“All I can say is wow, what a great start to the season. A year ago we didn’t make it past the first turn, and now here we are, holeshot, heat race and main event winners. It’s been a long, hard road to get here, but it feels great to be back up on top. A lot of people have doubted me and my return, but I’m glad to be back to where I feel like I belong. We have done lots of training, and I felt great on my KX™250 all weekend. I can’t thank my Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team, trainers and family enough. This is a game changer for me and I’m ready to keep this red plate.”
Maximus Vohland
“The day was going good until it wasn’t. I qualified pretty good and I felt comfortable in the mud. I had a good start for the heat race and set myself up in a good position for the mud and the main event. In the main I felt comfortable and thought we were going to have a good race until we had an issue that ended our night. I am bummed out for the night to end that way because I felt like I ran pretty good all day and had a great chance at a podium. But we will regroup and get back to it this week and come in firing to San Diego.”
