Kawasaki Team Green™ Riders Sweep Loretta Lynn's Southwest Regional Championship Qualifier at Fox Raceway
Kawasaki Team Green™ riders delivered a flawless weekend at Fox Raceway for the Loretta Lynn's Southwest Regional Championship Qualifier, dominating the competition across multiple classes with undefeated moto scores and championship-winning performances. Battling through cool, overcast conditions and a breezy start to the weekend before ideal weather arrived on Sunday, Kawasaki Team Green riders controlled the action from the opening gate drop to the final checkered flag.
Loretta Lynn’s Ranch resides in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, and is renowned for more than its connection to the country music star. The 6,000-acre ranch annually stands as the home of the motocross industry’s most prestigious amateur race in the world–the Monster Energy® AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, better known as Loretta Lynn’s. The ranch serves as the ultimate breeding ground for up and coming amateur racers looking to make their jump to the professional ranks. In order to qualify for one of the ranch’s 42 highly sought after gates, a rider must complete two things: race an Area Qualifier and place within the Top 8-12 qualifying positions, then race a Regional Championship and place within the Top 4-6 qualifying positions. With only a small percentage of riders advancing straight to Loretta’s from Regionals, the stakes are high, proving dedication and skillset more important than ever.
Leading the charge of the Southwest Regional Qualifier was Vincent Wey, who returned to competition for the first time following injury and immediately reestablished himself at the front of the field. Wey swept both the Open Pro Sport and 250 Pro Sport Classes with four convincing moto victories aboard his KX™250, riding composed and consistent all weekend long as he secured both overall titles.
Dane Pappas was equally dominant in the 250 B and Schoolboy 2 (12-17) B/C Classes, capturing four moto wins across the weekend to claim both class titles. Pappas consistently put himself in position early with strong starts, running first or second out of the gate in every moto before controlling the races from the front. Several motos saw him build commanding leads, while others required calculated rides under pressure as he led nearly every lap of competition.
In the Supermini ranks, Ryder Ellis put together one of the most impressive performances of the entire weekend. Ellis swept both Supermini classes with four decisive moto wins, earning three holeshots and quickly separating himself from the field each time the gate dropped. Ellis rode untouchable throughout the weekend, building large advantages early and maintaining complete control to the finish. His pace proved especially impressive, recording lap times only a few seconds off the fastest Pro Class laps of the weekend.
Team Green Trackside Support remained strong throughout the weekend, helping Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green riders complete a clean and successful weekend with no crashes, no mechanical issues, and no setbacks, while additionally providing support for any Kawasaki riders. With six class titles and a perfect sweep of every moto entered, Team Green riders continue to set the standard in amateur motocross competition. Their testament of success and expectation to be championship contenders will be ultimately tested in the beginning of August for the highly anticipated Loretta Lynn's Amateur National Motocross Championship.
