Hot Nights at Slash X

Kawasaki Racers Dominate DP4 in Barstow

This past weekend’s DP4 SXS race, “Hot Nights at Slash X,” lived up to its name with scorching temperatures and even hotter competition under the desert stars. Kawasaki racers delivered a dominant performance, taking top honors in two of the most competitive classes on the rugged Barstow terrain.

Jaren Porter put on a masterclass in consistency and speed, clinching the Production 1000 NA class win in commanding fashion. Behind the wheel of his Kawasaki Teryx KRX® 1000, Porter posted the fastest lap time in five out of the six laps, leaving no doubt about who owned the night. His pace and precision on the brutal desert course earned him not just the win, but the respect of competitors.

Meanwhile, Rhowan McGrath, daughter of racing legend Jeremy McGrath, showed strength and composure in the Stock 1000 NA class, driving her Kawasaki Teryx KRX® 1000 to a well-earned class victory. Navigating the punishing terrain with confidence, McGrath added another win to her growing resume and proved that Kawasaki’s off-road platform delivers performance and reliability when it matters most.

The night was a celebration of grit, horsepower, and green machines as Kawasaki riders showed what it means to race with heart in the harshest environments. With DP4’s signature nighttime racing format creating an unique atmosphere, “Hot Nights at Slash X” will be one to remember for the Kawasaki camp.

Jaren Porter

"The course was brutal, but the Teryx KRX® 1000 handled everything I threw at it. We found our rhythm early and just kept pushing. Winning the class and laying down the fastest lap times in five of six laps feels incredible. Nights like this are why we race."

Rhowan McGrath

"My first race without my dad there, racing in the dark, having to deal with a flat tire and still somehow pulling off the win - this one I will not forget!"
