Class 1 Motorsports owner and off-road racer Daniel Keyes delivered an impressive performance at VORRA’s Not for the Weeks 250 in Weeks, Nevada, earning first place in the Pro N/A UTV Class. This was only Keyes’ second race behind the wheel of his Kawasaki Teryx KRX® 1000. Facing a demanding desert course packed with rocks, technical sections, and high-speed terrain, Keyes entered the weekend unsure how the car would perform on what appeared to be a fast layout, but the race quickly proved to be the perfect match for Kawasaki’s proven platform.

After battling through heavy dust for most of the opening lap, Keyes worked his way around multiple competitors and found clean air through much of Lap 2, allowing him to settle into a strong rhythm and establish a competitive pace. A smooth pit stop at the end of Lap 2 for fuel and a quick inspection kept him running strong for the final three laps, where Keyes continued to push forward despite late-race adversity. On the final lap, brake failure added an unexpected challenge, but Keyes stayed composed and brought it home to secure the Pro N/A UTV Class victory.

This result marks another major statement for both Keyes and Class 1 Motorsports, one of the sport’s leading KRX aftermarket developers and race supporters, showcasing the capability of his race prepped Kawasaki Teryx KRX® 1000 in rugged desert competition. Capping off an already successful weekend, Keyes also claimed first place in the post-race jump contest, adding even more momentum as he and the Class 1 Motorsports team look ahead to the next stop on the VORRA series tour, the Night Vision 250, later this summer.
