GNCC - Snowshoe

Rocky Mountain Red Bear Kawasaki Team Green™ Conquers Snowshoe Mountain

The Snowshoe Grand National Cross Country race is known as one of the toughest races in the country, where simply finishing is an accomplishment in itself. Josh Toth did that and then some, capturing the 2025 overall win and the “King of the Mountain” title. Teammates Steward Baylor and Rachael Archer secured wins in the XC1 and WXC classes, respectively—marking the first time the team has swept the three classes in a GNCC race.

Toth has had an up-and-down year in GNCC so far, with overall podiums and some challenging races, but this past Sunday at Snowshoe proved he’s a force to be reckoned with. Toth started on the second row but quickly made his way to the lead on Lap 2. He held onto that lead until the final lap when a charging Baylor caught up, making it a battle between teammates. Toth ultimately held on for the overall win by 2.5 seconds over Baylor and took the XC2 Class win with a dominant seven-minute lead.

Steward Baylor was only a small mistake away from possibly winning the overall himself. After passing Toth with a few miles to go, a tipover allowed Toth to retake the lead. Baylor finished second overall but first in the XC1 Class.

Grant Baylor also had a strong showing, running third overall before a crash damaged his radiator and forced a pit stop. He still managed a season-best fourth-place finish in the XC1 Class.

Rachael Archer dominated the WXC Class, starting third and moving into the lead by the three-mile marker before stretching her lead to nearly six minutes by the finish.

Nick DeFeo had a solid day, finishing fourth in the XC2 Class. Collier Martinez claimed fourth in the 250 A Class, while Olin Daniels and Caleb Wood finished second and third in the 4-Stroke A Lites Class, respectively.

The team races again this weekend at the Little Raccoon National Enduro in Ohio.

GNCC Results

Josh Toth

“I just sent it at the beginning. I knew I needed to be up front early and set my own pace. The race was super tough this year. I definitely got tired, but I think everyone did. I trusted and relied on my technique, and that got me through it.”

Rachael Archer

“I had a lot of fun out there. The team and I nailed my bike setup. I’m really happy with my ride and happy to gain some more points heading into the summer break.”

Steward Baylor Jr

“I knew I was catching Josh [Toth] the last few laps. I was pushing harder than I ever have and riding well, but came up just short again. I really wanted that win, but I’m happy for Josh and the team. We did good today.”

Grant Baylor

“I felt good today. I’m happy with my speed, I just need to keep it on two wheels, and I can be up front.”
