Toth Takes on 450 Pro Motocross at Southwick

Josh Toth Trades Trees for Track

Rocky Mountain Red Bear Kawasaki Team Green™ off-road racer Josh Toth is trading trees for track this weekend as he lines up in the 450 Class at the Southwick National. Known for his success in GNCC and the AMA National Enduro series, Toth is stepping into the world of Pro Motocross and doing it in the deep, demanding sands of his home race in Massachusetts.

“I’m moving up to a 450 for the weekend,” said Toth. “I’m pretty excited, it’s always fun riding something different.”

Toth isn’t new to The Wick. In 2023 he made his Pro Motocross debut at the event in the 250 Class, but this time he’s coming in with more experience and more horsepower.

“I’ve always dreamed of racing this round growing up. I’ve been going to this race since I think I was in the womb,” Toth laughed. “I finally got the opportunity to race it in 2023 and loved it. So I’m stoked to return this year on a 450!”

The jump from long-format off-road racing to the intense pace of motocross motos can be a big adjustment, but Toth is not sweating it.

“I haven’t had as much time as I’d like to prep, but I ride moto fairly often to train for off-road,” he said. “I feel good on the bike lately and I think that’s the most important thing.”

As for goals? Toth is going in with a grounded but competitive mindset: “I’m hoping to ride to my potential during the motos and score some points. And hopefully that will turn some heads.”

Catch Toth and the rest of the 450 field this weekend at Southwick as he brings a bit of Team Green off-road grit to the gate.

“I’m just here to help Garrett be the best version of himself, on and off the bike. He’s got the talent and the drive, and I’ve been through it all before. If I can guide him through the ups and downs and help him stay focused on the bigger picture, that’s a win for both of us and for the whole team.”
