Chad Brindle: The Space Between Race Days
A Look at the Behind-the-Scenes Work That Helps Keep the Monster Energy® Kawasaki Team Ready to Race
By the time the checkered flag waves on Saturday night, most people are already thinking about the next stop on the schedule. Fans head home, the paddock begins to empty, and teams start packing up for another week on the road. What many don't see, however, is the work that begins after the racing ends. For Monster Energy® Kawasaki Transportation Specialist Chad Brindle, race weekends are only part of the job. While his title centers around transporting the team's semi across the country, his responsibilities stretch far beyond driving from one race to the next. Between rounds, Chad helps prepare nearly every aspect of the team's mobile base of operations so that riders and crew members can arrive each weekend ready to focus on racing.

As the paddock winds down after a race, the truck quickly changes from a busy hub of activity into a workspace in need of a reset. Tools must be organized, supplies restocked, equipment cleaned, and inventory accounted for. By Monday morning, Chad begins working through the truck from top to bottom, making sure everything is returned to race-ready condition. More specifically: suspension components are shipped out for service, engines are sent for rebuilds, inventory is tracked and replenished, and equipment is inspected to ensure all is ready for another weekend of competition. While those pieces move between vendors, race shops, and team personnel, Chad coordinates the details that keep everything moving in the right direction.
With the progression of the week, preparation becomes the primary focus. The truck, equipment, and bikes are washed and organized. From there, supplies are loaded, groceries are purchased, and work areas are arranged. By the time mechanics arrive later in the week, much of the groundwork has already been completed by Chad so the team can begin preparing for the weekend. In addition to equipment, food preparation is another important, and often overlooked, responsibility. Throughout the season, Chad prepares meals for riders and crew members during race weekends, helping ensure everyone has one less thing to worry about during an already demanding schedule. Whether it's breakfast before a long day on the track or dinner after the final moto of the day, this small yet important detail helps keep the team operating efficiently throughout the weekend. Once racing begins, his role continues to evolve, as he often films practice sessions from the stands so riders can review their laps afterward. As bikes return from the track, he assists with cleaning and preparation so mechanics can focus on their work. Throughout the weekend, he moves wherever help is needed, supporting different areas of the operation as situations arise.
“This position allows me to fully encompass my 'people person' qualities, through the relationships made by getting on a personal level with riders, crew members, and other industry professionals.” - Chad Brindle
Chad’s flexibility becomes especially important when unexpected challenges occur. Earlier this season at Daytona Supercross, an air compressor failure threatened to disrupt the team's normal routine. Chad immediately began coordinating a solution, locating replacement parts across the country, arranging overnight shipping, and helping implement temporary fixes until repairs could be completed. The issue was resolved without significantly impacting the team's weekend, a result of quick thinking and preparation behind the scenes.
While moments like this stand out, much of Chad's contribution happens in smaller ways throughout the week. Supplies are replenished before they run out, equipment is maintained before problems develop, and all meals are prepared before anyone has to ask for them. Countless details are handled long before they ever become visible to the rest of the team, because the reality of professional racing is that success depends on far more than what happens on the track. Behind every race weekend is a large group of people working to ensure riders, mechanics, and team personnel have everything they need to perform at their best. Chad's role is one piece of that larger effort, helping make sure the team's operations run smoothly from one round to the next.
By the time the truck arrives at the next race, most fans see only the finished product: clean bikes, organized work areas, and a team ready to compete. What they don't always see are the days of preparation that made it possible. For Chad Brindle, that's simply part of the job: helping the Monster Energy Kawasaki team stay prepared for whatever the next race weekend brings. Because what holds the team together isn’t what comes after the gate drop—it’s everything they made happen before it does.
