Kawasaki Celebrates EMX250 Championship Success and Strong MXGP Results at Arnhem
Kawasaki celebrated championship success at MXGP of The Netherlands, as Venum Bud Racing Kawasaki rider Francisco Garcia officially secured the 2026 FIM European EMX250 Championship, while Kawasaki also clinched the EMX250 Manufacturers’ title with one round remaining. After wrapping up the championship with a runner-up finish in Saturday’s opening moto, Garcia backed up his title-winning performance with another second-place finish in Race 2 to secure second overall on the weekend. Teammate Jake Cannon battled forward from a midfield start to finish ninth in the second moto, and heads into the final round holding third in the championship standings. In the MXGP Class, Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP’s Romain Febvre recovered from a first-turn incident in Race 1 to finish 10th before charging from ninth to fifth in Race 2, strengthening his hold on second in the FIM World MXGP Motocross Championship standings with a 41-point advantage over third. KRT teammate Pauls Jonass recorded 11th and 10th-place moto finishes for ninth overall, and currently sits 10th in the championship standings with three rounds remaining.

"I was a little disappointed with myself yesterday, not only with my speed but also with the games I was playing on the track, but nobody could realize what I have been going through these last few weeks after my injury. I had hoped I could be a little more relaxed today and go for the win with the title already in my pocket but it was another really difficult race for me physically in the sand and I had to settle for second again. I will go to see my doctor tomorrow to see if I can even race the final round in Turkey now I am already confirmed as champion. I am proud that I could clinch the title this weekend for myself, Bud Racing and Kawasaki. Now I want to focus on being ready for my move to the MX2 GPs with KRT next year."

"Somebody hit me on my elbow at the first turn of Race 1; I could come back to 10th at the finish but I was in pain all moto. I just couldn't find my rhythm at the beginning of Race 2; at the end I was getting better but the gap was too big to the guys just ahead of me. I was not on the pace of those at the very front, but neither was anybody else. Anyway, I now have a weekend off from racing; it's the first for a long time and then I will be ready for the last three rounds."

"Not an easy day. I was riding better in the second moto but I started further back; in the first moto I was fighting the track all moto and just didn't have the flow. But it all started with the poor gate-pick from yesterday; I got good jumps out of the gate but I was just too far outside to take the starts. Ninth overall doesn't look too bad but it's not where we want to be; we will keep working to be better through the last three GPs."
