KAWASAKI RIDER BUIS DOUBLES UP
The Circuit de Nevers - Magny Cours was the venue where the always thrilling FIM Supersport 300 World Championship resumed after a long summer break. Kawasaki riders enjoyed success at the 4.411km long circuit located in the epicenter of France, in what were unseasonably high ambient and track temperatures. None enjoyed the Magny Cours experience more than winner of both races, Jeffrey Buis of MTM Kawasaki on his Ninja® 400, as he also took the championship lead.

Jeffrey Buis
“Saturday was an incredible day for me. I felt strong all race long and the plan was always to stay in front to get maximum points. In the last two laps I saw I had a gap so I pushed and gave everything to make the win. I am very happy for this and it is super for the championship. It was an incredible weekend for me, really. Two wins out of two, back to being the leader of the championship and it was a very strong performance from my side. I felt really good with the bike and I couldn’t be happier about the feeling I had with it. It was really a weekend to remember and now the target is to continue this way. I want to thank all the team for the hard job and all the people who support me.”
Jonathan Rea
“I am really happy to have taken three podium finishes this weekend. In the last few laps I was fighting with him a lot - and enjoying it! Toprak in Magny Cours is really strong so I think it does show that we had a positive trend over the weekend, making the bike better.”
Lucas Mahias
“Even though I got the same result as yesterday, today's race was more satisfying. I was able to keep a good pace and the bike worked at its best. Due to the hot conditions I paid attention to tire wear during the race so as not to lose ground in the final stages - and I think I succeeded. Ninth place is not yet the result that the team or I deserve, but I consider it a step forward to greater competitiveness.”

Lucas Mahias
“In this round our goal was to continue to adapt to the ZX-6R and to try to enter the top ten consistently. I think the balance is positive because today I finished ninth and I felt more comfortable on the bike. I hope that Öncü will be able to race again at Donington, but if that were not the case, I would be happy to remain a part of this team. I thank them for the excellent work done here at Misano.”
