BABBITT’S ONLINE/MONSTER ENERGY®/KAWASAKI TEAM GREEN RETURNS TO GRAND NATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY RACING AT THE MOUNTAINEER GNCC
The Grand National Cross Country Series returned to racing over the weekend after a two-month summer break at the Summit Bechtel Reserves in the heart of West Virginia, where the team gathered two top-10 class finishes in muddy and rain-soaked conditions.
After missing the beginning portion of the season due to illness, defending XC-2 class champion Lyndon Snodgrass would not only return to racing but also return aboard a KX™450X to join his fellow teammates in the premier XC-1 class. Unfortunately, Snodgrass’ return would be cut short early in the race due to a mechanical issue sustained on the treacherous 10-mile race course.
Fellow XC-1 teammates Josh Strang and Grant Baylor would suffer from bad starts to. start the three-hour event, which led to both riders having to work their way through the highly competitive class. After a late race charge by both riders, Strang would cross the line in the seventh place position, while Baylor would finish one position behind in eighth.
The next round of GNCC racing will be held in Newburg, West Virginia, on the eighth of October, where Babbitt’s Online/Monster Energy/Kawasaki Team Green will be looking to rebound after a disappointing return to racing.
Josh Strang
"I finally had a good time back at the races. It has taken 9 months to come back, but I am excited to be here doing what I love. I finished down the list with the results, but had a lot more enjoyable weekend on my KX™450X with friends and family."
Josh Strang
"Unfortunately I could not 3 peat and I missed the podium by one second. Overall I had a fun race battling for podiums where I know I should be. Keep on trucking along and moving forward, this racing is tough but extremely fun on my KX™450X."

“It was an unfortunate result at the end, but I'm super happy with my riding and where we're at with my KX250X. I started the race in third and passed my way into the lead through the Pro Section. I was then able to extend a decent gap ahead of the competition until I had an issue and needed to pull into the pits. We got the issue resolved and I jumped back into the race to salvage a sixth place finish.”
