Two Wins And Manufacturers' Title For Kawasaki
The 3-mile long Motorland Aragon circuit hosted the seventh round of the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship between 22-24 September, with all the practice sessions and each race held under clear skies and autumnal sunshine in the north east of Spain. The weekend would end with two MTM Kawasaki riders winning one race apiece and Kawasaki claiming its fifth Manufacturers’ Championship in seven seasons of WorldSSP300 racing.

“I started the first race in P15 so I thought it was going to be a pretty hard race but I could overtake a lot of riders at the start. When the red flag came I knew I was capable of going more to the front and it all worked out. I didn’t think my first win was going to be on Saturday but it worked out, which was brilliant. I have become really confident on the bike, especially with overtaking, and qualifying is much better. My own pace is a lot better than it was before. I’m incredibly happy about this weekend, I got my first ever win in WorldSSP300 and it’s really a good feeling.”

“The Superpole race was incredible. The bike worked amazingly well. I need to take the positives away from the weekend because it’s no mean feat to just turn up here and be on the podium. But, overall, it’s a been a positive weekend.”

“Even though I got the same result as yesterday, today's race was more satisfying. I was able to keep a good pace and the bike worked at its best. Due to the hot conditions I paid attention to tire wear during the race so as not to lose ground in the final stages - and I think I succeeded. Ninth place is not yet the result that the team or I deserve, but I consider it a step forward to greater competitiveness.”

“In this round our goal was to continue to adapt to the ZX-6R and to try to enter the top ten consistently. I think the balance is positive because today I finished ninth and I felt more comfortable on the bike. I hope that Öncü will be able to race again at Donington, but if that were not the case, I would be happy to remain a part of this team. I thank them for the excellent work done here at Misano.”
