World Title #4 for Courtney Duncan and Romain Febvre Pulls Back 25 Points In Turkey
In a thrilling display of motocross prowess at Afyonkarahisar in Turkey, Courtney Duncan, alongside her team Big Van World MTX Kawasaki, secured their fourth victory in six rounds of the 2023 FIM World WMX Women’s Motocross Championship, simultaneously clinching their well-deserved fourth world title. Meanwhile, Romain Febvre, representing the Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP, heads into the final two rounds of the FIM World MXGP Motocross Championship with unwavering confidence, having clawed back twenty-five crucial points in the intense competition at the same event in Turkey.

"Honestly I was not too stressed today; I knew what I needed to do and I know how to ride mud. Anything can happen in these conditions but I got a good start and just stayed upright. The conditions were difficult and slippery but it was the same for everyone and I ran it home in second; that was enough for the overall victory and the championship. It's been a really good season with four GP wins and we were really consistent; for sure it's a challenge when there are such long breaks between some races after you have started to build momentum but we kept our focus. I feel like we definitely stepped it up this year and my Kawasaki never missed a beat. And this title means so much to me; the first one in 2019 was a sigh of relief, getting the monkey off my back, but I got knocked down last year with my injury and I really wanted to raise the bar this year. It took a lot of hard work but my mom's here this weekend for the first time and to experience one with her is very special so first we'll enjoy this one and then we'll start to work for the next one!"
Romain Febvre
"I never had a really good feeling for this track in all the years we have been coming here; I think this is only the second time I have been on the podium. I didn't feel comfortable yesterday but I have always ridden better in racing than Timed Practice and I managed to turn it around today. There was a lot of drama at the first two turns both motos but I could come out of there third each time. In the first moto I saw that I was faster and had good lines to take the win, but in the second race I was third all moto; I could keep the distance to Maxime but I couldn't find anywhere to make the difference so in the end I had to settle for third. I have gained many points in the championship this weekend and it's never over until the end but my only solution is to win what I can and hope Jorge makes mistakes. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the last two rounds. I love Maggiora - I have good memories from there - and I think everyone enjoys England; it is such a great track, so let's keep it going."

"We have been working hard for this moment all season. It should have come much earlier; little things always seemed to go against us, but we have kept working and turned it around. My only regret is that my mom and dad were not here this weekend, like they usually are, to enjoy this moment. It's a pity for that one small mistake in the first moto but I had the best times all through the last few laps of that race and I still believed in the podium. That career-first GP moto victory was special; I rode smooth and consistent, stayed second and kept pushing so I was able capitalize on Liam's mistake."
Quentin Marc Prugnières
"My first moto was not so good as I never found my rhythm, but I’m happy with the second race. My start was good but I lost some positions in the first few corners before I found some good lines to come back. I had a good rhythm even though the track was really tricky so you had to ride carefully but I came back to third, not so far from the second position. I was happy to end the weekend with a good result; my thanks to Bud Racing, Stephane, Thierry our trainer, my mechanic and my family who are always behind me."

“It was an unfortunate result at the end, but I'm super happy with my riding and where we're at with my KX250X. I started the race in third and passed my way into the lead through the Pro Section. I was then able to extend a decent gap ahead of the competition until I had an issue and needed to pull into the pits. We got the issue resolved and I jumped back into the race to salvage a sixth place finish.”
